Founded by Vice Admiral John Pereira (Retd.) and his wife (Late) Joyce Pereira, Hotel Uran Plaza serves as the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Our palm fringed resort, with its shelter providing Casuarinas and a sublimely refreshing sea breeze, may very well tempt you to just sink into a hammock under a starry open sky.

Known for our food, the menu boasts of famous local and continental seafood dishes like Masala Prawns, Crab Bake and Lobster Thermidor. There are 6 air-conditioned rooms with attached bathrooms for overnight visitors and we encourage you to book in advance.

You are also welcome to just come spend the day with us without needing a room.

"I planted every tree on this property with my own hands back in the day", says Vice Admiral John Pereira (Retd.) with a beaming smile reflecting a sense of pride and accomplishment. And indeed, it should be! A quick glance around the property and you will see the reason why. 6 acres of lush foliage including coconut palms and Casuarinas amongst others, and a view of the Arabian sea just metres away, it’s easy to see why the Vice Admiral has made it his home for the last 40 years.

Vice Admiral John Pereira (Retd.) and his wife (Late) Joyce Pereira bought the property in 1965. In the mid 70s, the ONGC arrived in Uran and wanted a place for their foreign technicians to stay. The idea to start in earnest with a small lodging and boarding house began here. Today Hotel Uran Plaza is a regular haunt for people who want to escape the dizzying city life and catch up on some tranquil time in nature.

Location

Hotel Uran Plaza is situated in Uran, a part of the Raigad district in Maharashtra. Primarily a fishing village, Uran is just about 90 to 100 minutes outside the city of Mumbai. One can reach Hotel Uran Plaza by taking a boat (regular and speed) from Ferry Wharf (Bhaucha Dhakka) in Mumbai up to Mora jetty in Uran. From there, you can hop into any of the rickshaws and reach the property in 20 minutes. Alternatively, you can also drive to the property which takes about 90 minutes on average. The directions by road are given below (starting from Vashi toll naka).

Known for our delectable cuisine, the comprehensive menu ranges from local to continental dishes comprised from recipes passed down the generations of our family.

Seafood enthusiasts can savour some of specialities like prawn masala, crab bake and lobster thermidor to name a few, with a picture postcard view of the ocean and the Mumbai skyline. We also make a mean vegetable pulao which we urge you to try.

Tariff

The property has six air-conditioned rooms with attached bathrooms. Two of these rooms beds four guests while the others are for a maximum of two guests. You are also welcome to just come spend the day with us without needing a room.

  5. The Hotel accepts no responsibility for money or valuables left in the rooms.
  6. We are a pet friendly hotel. However, since there are other dogs on the property, we urge you to watch out for your pets.

GROUPS

  1. No accommodation is provided to groups. Adequate seating and toilet facilities are available.
  2. Persons accompanying a group who wish to stay overnight stay will receive their room key after the departure of the group.
